Goslings, with its premium Rum and rich history spared no details when they sought out to rebrand their Family Reserve Rum. In fact, they ended up with a multi-award winner!
Popular liquor and spirits design agency, Klim Design came to Taylor Box Company to produce a rebrand for Gosling’s Family Reserve Old Rum liquor box. The objective was to create packaging which better emphasized the luxurious and iconic bottle and the product within. One of the most distinctive features of Gosling’s Rum is the bottle.
This tray in a three-panel lid style box spares no details. The entire bottle is depicted in an oversize black screen printing on three sides of the box. The dimensionality of the cork and the neck, the Gosling’s seal, the writing on the label, right down to the dripping wax synonymous with every bottle of Gosling’s Old Rum. Gold foil decoration adds a regal flair without compromising legibility. And a pronounced band of red across the center of the box draws a little extra attention to the packaging. A very sophisticated package for a one-of-a-kind brand. Inside is a hidden custom insert constructed of wrapped chipboard and foam, holds the bottle securely in place during shipping and on the shelves.
This liquor box packaging design has won numerous awards, including the Gold Award from the 2018 Paperboard Packaging Councils Carton Competition, a 2019 Pinnacle Award from Print Industries of New England for Foil or Film Stamping: Embossing/Debossing, and a 2019 Gold Leaf Award from Foil Stamping and Specialty Effects Association for Best Use of Foil/Embossing – Rigid Box.
