When the global pandemic hit, Panasphere needed to get creative with how they got their laminate samples out to design professionals, since many showrooms closed or reduced their hours. With many design professionals pivoting to virtual consultations and working from home, Panasphere needed to reimagine how to distribute sample materials.
Their solution? A custom sample kit of materials that easily ships to design professionals and homeowners so that decision makers can touch and feel each surface option before committing to a surface material. Panasphere reached out to Taylor Box for help and guidance in putting together a luxe custom sample kit that would highlight the elegant surface selections.
The sample kit is an intentionally simple two-piece box and lid made of black chipboard from Newman Paperboard chipboard wrapped in Ecological Fibers Rainbow paper. A matte white foil from General Roll Leaf highlights the company name and logo on the exterior. A snug Crosslink foam insert from Universal Foam nestles each sample uniformly for storage and display purposes. The box design aims to serve as a blank canvas on which each luxe laminate sample shines.
Panasphere had a specific budget and timeline for this project, and Taylor Box walked them through every step of the packaging design process, revising the plans to meet Panasphere’s needs.
Now, these custom sample kits travel worldwide to architects and design professionals who can efficiently choose design materials from the comfort and safety of their own homes or office. Pandemic or not, these sample kits are sure to be a mainstay moving forward, and Taylor Box was delighted to be a part of the process.
