Calyx Containers knows high-quality packaging. They’re in the business, themselves! And when this innovative group sought our help to create a custom luxe box to showcase their products, the bar was set high.
Founded in 2016, Calyx Containers has solved industry-wide cannabis storage challenges without sacrificing aesthetics. Their unique patent-pending containers and complementary inventory management system offer leading cannabis brands the ability to deliver better customer experiences and streamline their operations. These resealable and UV-blocking containers combat moisture loss, light exposure, and oxygen ingress – all adversaries of cannabis preservation. The square-shaped exterior of these containers allows for more efficient inventory management and a smaller transportation footprint when compared to round bottles and jars. We get it! We’re fond of square-shaped packaging too!
When Calyx Containers approached Taylor Box, they had a clear vision for how they wanted to showcase their products. Calyx Containers desired a luxe unboxing experience to introduce industry influencers and prospective customers to their product line. Taylor Box sent numerous box samples and product swatches to Calyx so they could choose materials that emphasized the premium quality of their containers. Together, the two teams worked to choose materials and effects for this limited drop of 500 boxes.
The hinged-lid box is constructed of a black chipboard base and a connected ESKA board folded lid. The box is wrapped in black Corvon Mano from Neenah Paper, providing a soft matte finish and a luxurious tactile experience. The silver foil stamped lid secures with a magnetic closure, signaling luxury and producing a dramatic reveal when opened. Neenah Papers also supplied the soft-touch cardstocks that make up the interior lid’s personal message and frame.
This limited edition sample kit perfectly frames Calyx’s packaging and delivers an exciting unboxing experience. The products sit in their own custom-sized recesses, allowing each container to be highlighted individually as well as showcasing the consistent design features of all products.
